Iain Rankin was sworn in as premier on February 23rd, 2021, after being elected leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. He has set out a bold agenda based on three key challenges facing Nova Scotia: preserving our Environment, leading a robust economic recovery, and promoting equity and inclusivity across the province.

On Thursday March 25th Mr. Rankin’s government announced its budget for 2021-22, and will join us on April 9th to speak about how this budget reflects these priorities.

Premier of Nova Scotia, Iain Rankin

Premier Iain Rankin was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia and grew up in the town of Timberlea. He has represented to the House of Assembly as MLA for the constituency of Timberlea-Prospect in 2013. He was re-elected in 2017 and was appointed Minister of the Environment. In 2018 he was appointed Minster of Lands and Forestry.
